Cool Lipo: Laser-assisted Lipolysis
Laser-assisted lipolysis is a new, minimally invasive technology that liquefies fat for easy removal. It is a laser-based procedure that breaks up and removes fat cells in areas such as under the chin, neck and jowls or areas with loose skin such as the arms. In addition, the system directly contracts collagen and tightens the skin from the inside out, an effect not seen with standard liposuction.

CoolLipo™ New Technology

As we grow older our skin begins to show signs of sun, lifestyle, and aging. The face and neck are exposed to the sun more than any other part of the body; therefore they both tend to age more quickly. As these aging effects begin to appear we look for topical formulas and non-invasive treatments to help reduce future aging plus improve current appearance.

Many prefer not to undergo extensive surgical face and neck lifts due to the expense and risk. Additionally, these procedures require a lengthy time for the
face and neck to heal, not always an option for people with limited recovery time.

Procedure.

CoolLipo™ Procedure
The CoolLipo treatment is performed in your physicians office. You may be awake during the entire procedure. (Your
physician may prescribe a sedative prior to the procedure.) The treatment area is anesthetized and a small cannula (wand-like
apparatus which contains the laser fiber) is inserted into an incision through the skin into the treatment area. The physician
maneuvers the cannula/ laser fiber within the treatment area making contact with the fat under the skin. The laser energy
disrupts and liquefies the fat which is then removed by syringe or micro-cannula. After the procedure, a steri-strip is applied to the
small incision(s) and the treated area is wrapped with a compression bandage. Your physician will provide instructions regarding
activity level and direction as to when you are able to remove the compression bandage.

How long does the procedure take?
The length of the procedure depends on the area being treated with the average being one hour for an individual area.

How long will it take for the treated area to heal?
The healing time frame depends on each patients procedure and individual healing abilities.
The small incision should heal within days and depending on your situation you may have minimal, if any, bruising.

How long before I notice results?
Patients should see results within a week post- procedure and will also notice a continual improvement of skin texture
and tightness in the treated area 2-6 months post procedure.

Can the CoolLipo treatment be performed on my stomach, hips or other larger body areas?
Currently the CoolLipo treatment is ideal for small, fatty problem areas such as the neck & chin area and arms.
It improves the outcome of conventional liposuction in larger areas such as the abdomen and thighs.

Why should I choose CoolLipo over other similar laser-assisted lipolysis laser procedures?
CoolLipo unique 1320 nm wavelength provides proven skin tightening and lifting benefits in addition to fat lipolysis.
There is minimal risk of pigmentary changes using the 1320 wavelength.
