SHOULD YOU DO-IT-YOURSELF or DELEGATE TO A DESIGNER?

Bella Vita Interiors and I recently had a discussion about two types of homeowners, the "do it yourselfer" and "the delegator." Which one are you?
Depending on the project, there are many choices that need to be made upfront on the design and goals of the project. Then there's selecting product and contractors, placing orders, signing contracts, paying deposits and coordinating delivery dates and schedules and overseeing the work. Sometimes things go wrong, for example, an item may be damaged in delivery and must be returned for a replacement. This may mean re-scheduling the other contractors. Sometimes difficult decisions need to be made.
If you're doing it all yourself, expect to make a lot of phone calls, discussions and coordinating to get the project rolling and keep it on track. When a designer is on the project, these logistics are all handled for you.
