Some typical Species of Woods used for cabinets are:
Maple (less expensive)
Oak (more expensive)
Cherry (even more expensive).
The type of Woods used will affect the price. All wood starts unfinished and is stained or painted in production.
The main difference between the wood species is in the graining and colorization of the raw wood. These differences are the most determining factors when selecting cabinets for the project.
The colorization and grain of the raw wood will dictate how various stains or paint will look on the finished product. Cherry wood has a medium to darker tone, and Maple is one of the lighter woods.
